#NOARTISTSNOART – THE ART BLACKOUT

Silver for ‘Best low budget idea’ at Creative Circle 2018

Bronze for ‘Guerilla Marketing’ at Creative Circle 2018

The lights are going out in Soho. Rate hikes, property developers, big chains – they’re pushing out the little guys.

And the area is losing its identity as a bright, neon beacon of creativity.

Lights of Soho, an independent gallery and creative space, needed to raise awareness of its plight and gain local support.

We created a platform for protest – #NoArtistsNoArt – which we launched with the world’s first Art Blackout.
In a coordinated strike we covered up the art in Soho’s most popular restaurants, members’ clubs, cafes and bars.

The medium was our message, revealing what Soho will become if places like Lights of Soho cease to exist.
